BTS Onnut Station

A boy was peddling a tray of desserts on his head at BTS Onut station.
I observed him for a while and thought he's pitiful as he wasn't able to even sell one thing.
Thought I'll buy some dessert from him for supper. When I asked him how much is this, he said 40 baht.
I couldn't believe it. Other stalls are selling such dessert for only 20 baht and he's selling for 40 baht. He didn't seem that poor on second look. And he could even speak English. "How many?" He asked.
Anyway, I bought one. However, this will be the first and last time he got my business.
Of course, what he is selling is not desserts. He's selling an emotion.
I hope his parents are not using him to gain sympathy towards him to charge a high price for what he is selling. What will he learn from this?
If he is selling them at same price or maybe 5 baht more, perhaps he would have more business and repeat customers. More importantly, he will learn the value of making a honest living.
