He alighted the train at his destination and noticed a caucasian couple sitting on the bench and watched the train leaving the station without boarding it.
It seemed that the couple had been there for quite a while from the look on their faces and body gesture.
The lady stood up and walked towards a train route signage.
The man walked towards the lady's direction as the exit staircase is just behind her.
He stopped and asked the lady, "Are you going to the airport?"
The lady replied, "Yes."
He said, "You have to take this train and transfer at Tanah Merah station."
She heaved a sigh and said, "Thank you very much."
The couple must have thought that they have to wait for the train that goes directly to the airport terminal. They have been waiting for god knows how long as all the trains arriving showed they are headed for Pasir Ris terminal.
The train company could add a small notice on the signage.
The problem is that there is usually no staff at the platform to notice such stuff.
Maybe they can apply Murphy's Law to improve their service.
