It rained again today in the afternoon after a scorching morning.
After a sudden heavy downpour, the rain got smaller and I quickly made my way to my destination, knowing that the rain isn't going to stop any time soon.
I walked passed the world's famous Raffles Hotel's courtyard, an open space dining area in a garden like setting with rows of branded shops by the side.
It was rather unusual to see guests sitting under the shelter at the dining area, continuing with their chit chatting and meals, especially after the earlier heavy rain.
What surprised me was this (see below photo).
Apparently, the shelter wasn't big enough to shelter her from the splattering of rain.
On second look, it's an umbrella with the hotel's logo on it. Is she a staying guest at the hotel? Or did the staff offer it to her?
This restaurant is expensive going by the prices on its menu.
But looking at the lady so uncomfortable trying to have a proper meal makes me think is this the kind of experience one gets at a internationally well-known hotel?
Did the staff offer to move them to an inside area where its guests are spared getting drenched? Or the hotel has no other places to move these guests to? Why didn't the staff move the shelter so that this lady is not sitting near to the edge of the shelter? Or the alternative was provided but declined by the lady because she prefers outside dining experience?
What do you think?
