He is a enterpising man and started a franchise more rhan ten years ago.
I've seen how he has grown from a small outlet one man show operation to a few thousands sq ft outlet with proper seating area.
Anyone in business know that starting a business is not easy. Sustaining it beyond the first year is tough. And my friend has keep it going for more than ten years.
I've visited his place a few times.
The restaurant used to have those seats that most fast food restaurants have previously. Those with a table and four seats all glued together and fixed on thr ground. So you cannot move them at all.
How much Mac, BK and other fast food restaurants have changed. Now, you get comfortable and stylish wooden seats, soothing lights and conducive ambience. And some even have sofa seats. Mac has even started selling gourmet coffee and cheesecakes.
My friend has since moved to a different outlet within the same building.
I'm not sure if the old seats are still there as I've not visited him for a while.
The last time I wonder if he is not allowed to make any changes to the layout as he is a franchisee. He has since bought over the franchise.
Now that he is the owner, he can have the ultimate power to make changes. Did he sprice up the place and replace them with something more up to date?
If not, is he constraint by finance issue?
I believe if he has kept those old seats, it's more of creating a noatalgic experience for hia customers.
Otherwise, he is degressing by staying the same as ten years ago.
Think about it - Are you keeping things the same for any valid reason? If not, you are actually going backward.
