Be clear.
A lady was buying groceries and doing marketing at her neighborhood market.
She passed by a fruit stall and saw bags of small oranges. There were Japanese words printed on the plastic bags. She asked the seller how much is a bag. The seller replied, "$3.50 each. 3 for $10." She asked, "Where is it from?" The seller replied, "Japan." She thought, "$3.50? Japan?" Due to covid19 pandemic, many companies were unable to hold family day for their staff.
Stephanie received five food delivery vouchers instead for her company's family day. These vouchers expire on 22 April according to the email she received. Stephanie used up the first four vouchers and was redeeming the fifth on the day it expires for a self pick up order. However, she got an error message that the voucher has expired. She contacted the agent via the online chat service on the app. She was informed her voucher has expired on 21st April. But she told the agent that it was indicated as expiring on 22nd April and showed proof of the email. Agent said will investigate and get back to her by email or on the same chat. She received a reply from another agent telling her they cannot give her a replacement voucher as the rider could not reach her. She replied that how can there be any rider contacting her when she has not even placed any order and it was for self pick up. She then emailed the same proof again. Another agent replied and told her four vouchers have expiry on 21st April and one on 22nd April (the first voucher on the list that she has used). Agent then assumed that her 22nd April voucher is still valid and asked to to use it before the end of the day. She tried just to confirm that the one expiring on 22nd April has been used. She wrote back telling the agent that she has already used that voucher. She received a reply again from a different agent telling her her voucher is still valid and to send her screenshot of the error message if she still cannot use. She replied back why do they need her to send screenshot of error message when she has already told them that it showed "The voucher has expired." She asked why can't they just give her a replacement voucher since apparently there is a mix up in the expiry dates of the vouchers, either by their staff who sold the bulk vouchers to her company or her colleague who sent her the email. Anyway, the voucher has been paid for. Another new agent replied that they cannot extend the expiry date of voucher. She wrote back, "I am not asking you to extend the expiry date of the voucher. I am asking you to give me a replacement for the same value." Again, someone else replied her that they will give her a $8 voucher as replacement. She asked why are they giving her $8 instead of $10? Finally, someone replied that they will give her a replacement $10 with a new expiry date. All they need to do is just give Stephanie the benefit of doubt (since there is apparently a mix up on the expiry dates of these vouchers) with a replacement voucher and solve the issue. And if they want to prevent the same issue from happening, just escalate to the relevant party who sold the vouchers to investigate. Case closed. A big corporation has a mobile app reward program for its customers where they can get one spin chance to win between 40 to 200 points that can be stacked and exchanged for vouchers, when the weekly target is hit.
A customer had his phone date changed without his knowledge and was not able hit the target for three weeks as the data could not be synced. He wrote in and was told that they cannot award the spin chance to him. What are the chances that he will hit 40, 60, 80, 100 and 200 points by awarding the three spin chances to him? Yet the corporation spends millions to advertise that they are a caring company. A man sent an email to ask about his insurance policy.
Before he received a reply, he received a survey from the insurance company asking for feedback regarding the service interaction. When he completed the survey about his dissatisfaction, he was unable to submit his feedback. A department head was having meeting with her staff.
She started off the meeting asking, "Do you guys have anything to share?" There was no response. She asked again, "You all got nothing to share? Are you sure you do not have anything to share? I just attended the other meeting and I have a lot of things to share." She continued, "You all never see your colleagues make mistake?" A company announced bonus between 4 to 16 months for staff depending on their job position.
Everyone wants to join the company for a moment. David won a dining voucher in a radio contest.
He treated his friend for lunch with the dining voucher. After paying for the meal with the voucher and the balance amount with credit card, they left the restaurant. While waiting for the lift, David realized that the staff did not take the voucher. The two of them looked at each other and a bad thought came to them. Now should he goes back to the restaurant or keep the voucher and use it again at another of the outlet? He went back to give the voucher to the manager. The manager was relieved and said, "Thank you very much. Otherwise, I will have to pay for the loss." A lady has a $100 dining voucher.
She went to the restaurant with her hubby for lunch. She was required to present the voucher before ordering. The restaurant has a set lunch menu where you can get a free soup and a drink for ordering certain main courses. The main courses are priced between $20 to $45. Just to make sure, she asked if the voucher can be used for set lunch. The manager came and said it is not applicable for set lunch. She asked why. The manager said if the two of them order set lunch, she is afraid that they cannot fully utilized the $100 value of the voucher. Two persons were queuing to redeem free vouchers for spending at a shopping mall.
A couple decked all over in branded clothes was behind them. A Louis Vuitton tee shirt for the lady and a black furry branded bag and a pair of branded loafer. The man was wearing a white branded tee, a branded track pant and a pair of Dolce and Gabbana sneakers. Both were wearing Rolex white gold watches of the same design and on the other wrist, the lady had two diamond studded bracelets and the man had one, not mentioning the big diamond rings. The couple had just done some shopping and were carrying a Prada carrier and a big Burberry carrier. A few persons behind them was another older couple dressed in black and white. The lady had golden dyed hair with a pair of Gucci sunglasses on her head, she was wearing a belt that shouts DIOR, a Panerai watch and carried a Chanel handbag. The man was wearing a Maschino tee shirt that had the brand printed all over and a Hublot watch. Both were wearing Ferragamo casual shoes. There is no doubt that the white top and black pants the lady was wearing were branded as well. The couple spotted the couple in front and began murmuring to each other while looking at them. Then the lady pretend to walk around but actually walked toward the couple to look at them from top to toe and from toe to top. She then went back and murmured to the man again while looking at the couple. A man ordered a turkey from a supermarket for a Christmas party three weeks later.
He changed his collection place from an outlet in the east to one in the city four days before collection date. He went pick up the turkey on the actual date and waited for almost 30 minutes. Usually it does not take so long to pick up an order. He sensed something wrong. Sure enough, the change of location was not updated in their system. The store manager apologized profusely for the mistake and offered a refund of the amount plus compensation of a ham, three roast chickens and a bottle of wine free of charge. A man joined a loyalty program of a shopping mall recently.
He gets to clock points by spending at the mall ($1 spending gets 1 point) and gets to access promotion deals as a member. These points then can be used to redeem free parking or vouchers to be used at the outlets in the mall. For example, he can redeem a $10 voucher for 10000 points. 10000 is equivalent to spending $10,000 as a basic member. He won a restaurant's dining voucher from a radio contest and decided to dine at the mall as there is an outlet so he can clock some points at the same time. One day after he dined at the restaurant and scanned the receipt in the mall's mobile app, he wrote in to check on the status as it was the first time he using it. A few hours later, he got a notification that he has gotten 226 points for his spending (double of 113 points due to an ongoing promotion). A few days later, he received a reply on his enquiry. He was informed that the receipt is not accepted due to the dining voucher. The points he has been credited were all reversed. 226 points is equivalent to about 20 cents if he ever gets to redeem anything. He wondered if he had not written in, would the mall actually discover the mistake? A businesswoman saw her food outlet business in the central business district dropped from about $1,000 to $500 a day for the past six months as many employees work from home.
She calls her landlord every other day to complain how badly her business has been affected and keeps asking for rental rebate. She even argued about government support scheme without understanding the content. Frankly, she is doing quite well having $500 business in this situation. She would be better off thinking how to save her own business rather than wasting energy on complaining. Forget about the $1,000 a day. Due to Covid19, all places have to restrict the number of people in their premises at any one time. You have to scan the QR Code to check in and also have your temperature taken before you are allowed to go in.
A man was queuing outside MacDonald. The queue was broke into two as it's along a walkway so as not to disrupt traffic flow. He was on the left side waiting to join the queue on the right side. A young lady came and quietly joined the queue on the right side. She pretended nothing happened but kept turning around to look at the man and the rest of people in the queue behind him to see if anyone saw her doing that. Without saying, the man saw but he just kept quiet about it. |
