It's a sad day for us.
Two years back, I finally got reunited with my secondary school classmates whom I've not met in many years. A few of us gathered again at a classmate's new cafe and I noticed another of my classmate looked haggard and pale. His cheeks were sunken and his face was slightly yellowish if you look closely. I sensed something but held back from asking him. He didn't look unwell at all. Perhaps he's always looked like this, I thought to myself. He was enthusiastic, warm and happy. Never missing any gatherings, dancing and joking away.
A few months later, he passed away due to cancer. We've been reunited for less than one year and he's left us.
In life, anything can happen.
Go do the things you've always wanted to do. Bring your kids to the zoo as you've promised. Love your spouse for who they are. Don't compare. Don't take it too hard when things don't go your way. It doesn't matter if your neighbor is prettier or richer. It doesn't matter if you've failed again and again. Be happy and grateful for every day you live.
