Saw a boy carrying a tray of desserts on his head at BTS Onut station selling them. Thought I'll buy some dessert from him for supper. When I asked him how much is this, he said 40 baht.
I couldn't believe it. Other stalls are selling such dessert for only 10 to 20 baht and he's selling for 40 baht. He didn't seem that poor on second look. And he could even speak English. "How many?" He asked.
Anyway, I bought one. This will be the one and only time he's going to make my business.
I hope his parents is not using him to make use of people's sympathy towards him to charge a high price for what he is selling.
If he is selling them at same price or maybe 5 baht more, perhaps he would have more business and repeat customers. More importantly, he will learn the value of making a honest living.
