Her renovation contractor recommended someone he has worked with previously, praising the person for his good after sale service. So off she went to the shop.
The staff were all busy cleaning the items on display when she reached. Everyone saw her but no one greeted her. In fact, she was rather impressed that the shop even bothered to wipe the display items. Some of the shops she went to were so messy and you can see dirt accumulating in the surface of the items.
After about 12 minutes of looking around, she asked a lady staff standing nearby some questions about the stoves. She was squatting down pulling out the display stoves while the lady stood there.
The lady then went on to look at toilet bowl and basin. The staff showed no interest in providing more information. She was just answering whatever questions asked, nothing more.
The lady then told the staff that she was recommended by Jarren, her contractor, to look for Ken. The staff then pointed to a guy in the shop and said, "This is Ken. You can look for him or me." Ken didn't walk over to say hi or acknowledged her.
Before leaving, the lady asked for the staff namecard.
Next, she went to a shop in the next street, which was recommended by Jarren as Ken used to work there. That means Jarren will give his business to Ken whichever company he works for.
The staff there was rather proactive to take down the models, explain the differences of each model, calculate the total price and asked for her contact number.
The last stop the lady went is next door. She saw a model of water heater and another model of toilet bowl which were selling at cheaper prices than the second shop. The staff was rather busy and was serving 3 customers at one time, without giving attention to anyone. All the staff did was to quote her the prices of the models the lady asked for. The lady then asked for basin and was given a brochure and told to go upstairs to look at the display. She went up and the place was rather untidy and dirty. She couldn't find the model listed on the brochure.
Guess which shop got her business?
