I am looking to book a hotel for my trip in July where I chanced on reviews of one hotel on Tripadvisor. There were more bad reviews than good at this hotel. For those who wrote bad reviews, these were the complaints. Bookings got mixed up. Rooms with cigarette smell. Rooms were dirty. Furnishing in poor working conditions. Air-condition too cold and noisy. Towels were not changed. Water heater temperature inconsistent. Choked bathtub. Security issue. Slow, lousy, grumpy and indifferent service at reception. What's interesting is that these same people who had bad experiences at this hotel never fail to mention a particular staff. Guess who? It's the door man. He greeted guests every morning with a smile. Gave tips on where to find cheap tasty food and the best bargains. Advices on places of interests. One guest even mentioned the door man helping them to bring the luggage to the train station.
