He looked through the topics that will be covered by some of the speakers and thought they were quite interesting and signed up for it even though he is from a different industry totally unrelated to this.
He received a SMS reminder of the event one day before the event and was hesitant whether it was worth his time to attend something which may turns out useless for him.
He scanned through the topics that will be covered again and decided to give it a miss as there was only one talk which he is not sure if it would be relevant. And he has other more urgent and important stuff to handle.
On the day of the event, he received another SMS reminder early in the morning.
He finally decided to attend the event just for the specific talk and leave after that.
Upon arrival, a talk by another speaker was still on and he decided to sit in to wait for the next talk which he came for.
It turned out that the talk by the first speaker was rather interesting and the one he came for was rather disappointing.
He went on to listen to other talks at the event where he picked up some knowledge and relate them to business principles which he could apply.
