He noticed a business book on the shelf behind the manager's desk, who has left to photocopy the document.
It was bright red and stood out evidently in the dull room.
But what really attracted him was the title.
When the manager was back, the man asked him about the book.
The manager took out the book from the shelf, showed it to the man and mentioned that it was given by his director, who wanted the staff to improve themselves. After taking a look at the cover, the man returned it to the manager and he put it back at the shelf.
"You have a very good boss," the man said.
"Yes, he is a visionary. He wants us to think like entrepreneur, like we are running our own businesses," said the manager. He then shared an example of an idea which his boss implemented, a first in the industry which no other car dealers are doing.
That had the man thinking why the competitors are not trying out new things.
The idea is simple and does not involve any rocket science to make it works. No only does it work, it works better than the existing system. Staff are more motivated, the company enjoys more sales, and they have more happy customers.
So do you think the manager will read the book?
